Policies
At Gilder Vehicle Leasing we find that it is better to be upfront about the way that we handle vehicles at the end of the contract. This way there are no nasty surprises and we can work together to ensure the best possible outcome all round. Please find our policies below and should you have any queries or concerns, as ever, we will be happy to chat them through with you.
Early Termination:
At Gilder Vehicle Leasing we realise that sometimes circumstances beyond your control may lead to the early termination of a contract. Should this be the case, we will be happy to talk to you, together we will find a fair solution. Unlike many contract hire companies, we do not impose a blanket termination fee. Instead we will look at each individual case, taking into account such things as:
- Actual mileage verses contracted miles
- Length of time left on the contract
- Condition of the vehicle
- Size of your fleet
Fair Wear and Tear:
We have put together a guide to help our customers understand what constitutes fair wear and tear and what is chargeable damage when a vehicle is returned at the of its contract. This information is based upon the BVRLA fair wear and tear guide.
We recommend that you make copies of the fair wear and tear guide available to drivers so that they are aware of the standards expected at the end of your contract. By ensuring your drivers know what is expected from them and by taking reasonable steps to ensure the vehicle is cared for properly, the refurbishment costs will be minimised.

Excess Mileage:
Excess mileage charges can come as an unwelcome surprise at the end of a contract. At Gilder Vehicle Leasing we try to avoid unnecessary charges and we are happy to review your contract at any time and where appropriate issue a new contract to you. We also spend time with you to ensure that your mileage predictions are as realistic and accurate as possible in the first instance.
